Fifty years ago, the Musée des Abénakis opened its doors to visitors eager to learn about Abenaki culture and heritage. Join us as we celebrate this special anniversary of the first Aboriginal museum in Quebec! To mark the milestone, we have an all-new exhibition showcasing lots of objets from the Museum's collections. You can admire artifacts that were displayed when the Museum first opened alongside other acquisitions added over the years. You can also watch videos where traditional craftspeople and players in the Museum's history share some personal memories or traditional know-how. This is a way for the Museum to celebrate 50 years of close ties with the Odanak community, and to pay tribute to the individuals who founded and have run and supported it over the years.
